Kickstarter has begun for the development of a new smartwatch
Known as the world’s first modular smartwatch, BLOCKS is made up of a typical watch face with all the expected functionalities plus several links, or modules, each with their own function(s).
BLOCKS modules have convenient functions such as a:
- GPS
- Camera
- SIM Card
- Extra Battery
- NFC Contactless
- KeyRFID
- Heart Rate, Altitude, Body Temperature, Blood O2 (and more) detector
The BLOCKS smartwatch is not your usual one-size-fits-all watch. BLOCKS allows you to choose which modules you want and then connect them together to build a smartwatch based on your lifestyle.
Other BLOCKS smartwatch benefits are:
- New modules will be released continually to ensure it is “future proof”
- It is an open platform in that any company or individual can develop modules
- There are an ever-growing selection of features to choose from
So far, about 2,734 people have helped kick start the project and $805,624 has been raised for production.
