Facebook and Instagram are undergoing small changes which now makes it more legible, clickable, and comment-able.
Facebook now makes it much clearer where the threads start and end in comments. Facebook is adopting the messenger bubble style for comments, encouraging the rapid conversations that people typically have in private messages. The conversations even start becoming their own chat window. Facebook is also swapping the globe notification to a standard alert bell so users can focus solely on Facebook’s content and not it’s chrome. Furthermore, circular profile pictures will be introduced to take up less space and feel more human. Facebook wants to also make sure that you do not get lost several layers deep beyond the feed. You will now see a more obvious header with a bigger black back button when you dive into a post from the News Feed.
Meanwhile, Instagram will be implementing similar features to Facebook including threaded comments so you can have sub-conversations in public. They are very subtle changes but Facebook and Instagram want to make sure that you have the best experience possible.
