Transitioning from SHA-1 to SHA-2

software_updateThe transition from SHA-1 to SHA-2 (Secure Hash Algorithm) is coming soon. On November 7th, 2014, Google Chrome will stop displaying the security indicators such as the green padlock and/or green address bar for any certificates using the now outdated SHA-1 algorithm.

Luckily, there is a FREE and easy way to update your certificate(s) to SHA-2. If you purchased an SSL certificate from RedOrum LLC and it has not yet expired, we can help you reissue your certificate(s) to get a new version signed with SHA-2, in full compliance with Google Chrome’s new preference.

Reissuing requires a CSR (either the original CSR for the order or a new one will work) and email validation to be completed again to authorize a new version of the certificate. For help with generating a CSR, go here.
