In a continued effort to provide our clients with the best state-of-the-art data center infrastructure, this is to inform you that the AIS Electrical Engineers will be performing maintenance on Friday, August 12, 2016.
Type of Maintenance: Electrical
Location: LWDC – 9305 Lightwave Ave., CA, 92123
Purpose: AIS electrical engineers will perform maintenance and testing to ensure all systems can provide continuous sustainable support.
High Level Summary: On August 12, 2016, the AIS engineers, working together with dedicated manufacturer’s engineering support, will perform de-energized preventive maintenance and testing to the enterprise level power distribution system supporting the LWDC data center. During this maintenance initiative, utility service will be temporarily isolated from the system for a portion of the day. This maintenance is expected to take approximately 10 hours each day and not production support impacting.
1) Friday, August 12, 2016. Perform de-energized maintenance and testing of OCPD, transfer control relays and transformers for PB 1.
2) Saturday, August 13, 2016. Perform de-energized maintenance and testing of OCPD, transfer control relays and transformers for PB 2.
Window Start: 8/12/2016 – 6:00 AM PDT
Window End: 8/13/2016 – 10:00 PM PDT
Service Impact: This maintenance is not expected to be service impacting as all production environments supported by the referenced PB’s are within the “2N” configured power distribution system; as each supported load is shut-down for the PB undergoing retrofit; the load will continue to be supported by the alternate source.
Schedule: The window for maintenance is scheduled to begin at 6:00 AM on Friday, August 12, 2016 and end no later than 10:00 PM on Saturday, August 13, 2016. The actual period time of work should not exceed 10 hours per PB System; however should additional time be required, notice will be provided and the maintenance window will be expanded.
Testing & Planning: All testing and planning being conducted during this window is part of a pre-defined checklist designed by the AIS electrical engineering team and consistent with IEEE and UL standards.
Regression Planning: The AIS electrical engineering team will be on-site managing this window. As with any mechanical work, while highly unlikely, there is a possibility that something unexpected may occur during the work process. Should any issues arise, all equipment will be placed back into standard operation and the work will be postponed until the issue is resolved.
