To Our Valued Clients,
In a continued effort to provide our clients with the best state-of-the-art data center infrastructure, this is to notify you that AIS will be performing circuit re-feeds starting Friday, January 22, 2016.
Type of Maintenance: Electrical
Location: LWDC, 9305 Lightwave Dr. San Diego, CA
Purpose: AIS electrical engineers will be re-feeding individual electrical circuits from a new source.
High Level Summary: AIS will re-feed the remaining circuits supported from PDUs 33 & 39 from a new source one at a time in order to support upgrade and expansion of the electrical infrastructure.
Window Start: 1/22/2016 – 8:00 PM PST
Window End: 1/24/2016 – 6:00 AM PST
Service Impact: This maintenance will be service impacting to single sourced (A-side only power) environments. Environments properly configured with A/B power are not expected to experience an impact. Circuits will be powered down and re-fed, one at a time. Each circuit that is cut-over to the new source is expected to take approximately 30 minutes. The maintenance process includes actual cut-over, test and validation phases.
Schedule: The window for maintenance is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM on Friday, January 22, 2016 and end no later than 4:00 AM on the Sunday, January 24, 2016.
Testing & Planning: All testing and planning being conducted during this window is part of a pre-defined checklist designed by the AIS electrical engineering team and consistent with IEEE and UL standards.
Regression Planning: The AIS electrical engineering team will be on-site managing this window. As with any mechanical work, while highly unlikely, there is a possibility that something unexpected may occur during the work process. Should any issues arise, all equipment will be placed back into standard operation and the work will be postponed until the issue is resolved.
