Data Center Maintenance Window – (5/5/2018 – 5/19/2018)

Dear Valued Client,

We’re writing to inform you that maintenance will be performed at the Lightwave Data Center beginning on Saturday, May 5, 2018.

Type of Maintenance: Electrical

Location: LWDC – 9305 Lightwave Ave, San Diego, CA.

Purpose: AIS electrical engineers will perform UPS battery replacement to ensure all UPS systems can provide continuous sustainable support.

High Level Summary: On May 5, 2018, the AIS electrical engineers will isolate UPM 3A2 and retrofit the existing UPS including new batteries. The building will be placed on generator for approximately 3 hours and the UPS will be placed on maintenance bypass while the UPM is isolated, during this time period the UPS load from UPS 3A will be supported by EG only. This portion of the maintenance is not expected to take longer than 3 hours to complete. At the conclusion, UPS 3A will return to normal operation with (2) of three UPM online (internal UPM redundancy) and remain as such until battery commissioning is completed on May 19, 2018.

Important Note: All customers are advised to ensure that their environments are properly configured for sustainable continuity during this event.

1) Properly configured (A+B) supported customers should not see any interruption during this upgrade initiative.

2) Single sourced clients loads supported by UPS 3A may possibly see a brief interruption to service.

Window Start: 5/5/2018 – 6:30 AM PDT
Window End: 5/19/2018 – 6:00 AM PDT

Service Impact: This maintenance is not expected to be service impacting, however, in the unlikely event of a generator issue, single sourced loads supported by UPS 3A may possibly see a brief interruption to service.

Schedule: The window for maintenance is scheduled to begin at 6:30 AM on Saturday, May 5, 2018 and end no later than 6:00 AM on Saturday, May 19, 2018. The actual time period of work should not exceed 3 hours; however, should additional time be required, a notice will be provided and the maintenance window will be expanded.

Testing & Planning: All testing and planning being conducted during this window is part of a pre-defined checklist designed by the AIS electrical engineering team and consistent with IEEE and UL standards.
